Description:
This is an original tin marked Fair Lawn Mills Gun Powder manufactured in Hazardville Conn. Fair Lawn produced about 40% of the black powder during the Civil war and was later purchased by DuPont in 1870. It is missing the original brass/steel cap. The body is in good to very good condition, the paint is not crazed from age but is all there and the label is intact. There is some missing paint on the top and edges, the edges and seams are sealed. It measures 5 ¼" tall and 4" wide. ;
