Description:
The Winchester Model 24 in 12 gauge with 30-inch barrels is a classic "working man's" side-by-side (SxS) double-barrel shotgun. Produced between 1939 and 1958, it was designed to be a rugged, affordable alternative to the more expensive Model 21, prioritizing durability over ornate aesthetics. Equipped with extractors only (it lifts the shells for manual removal) rather than automatic ejectors that throw the shells clear. The Model 24 is often called a "tank" by collectors because of its heavy-duty steel construction. While it lacks the prestige of the Model 21, it is highly regarded for its reliability. Because it has fixed chokes and was made before the era of steel shot, owners of vintage models should consult a gunsmith before using modern non-toxic (steel) waterfowl loads to avoid damaging the barrels. 12 Gauge
