"sn: 1367200, G&H barrel number 1241. Built in New York City in 1934 by Griffin & Howe on a Springfield 1903 National Match barreled action. Custom built bolt action sporting rifle chambered in 30-06 with the original 24 inch Star Gauge barrel, Banded ramp front sight, barrel band sling swivel, Lyman rear sight base, German ""Skopar B"" post reticle scope with an adjustable Stith mount, custom checkered flag safety and early style burnished bolt, follower and raceway. Classic Griffin & Howe checkered walnut sporter stock with horn forend tip, 2 cross bolts, steel grip cap and checkered steel butt plate. Moderate wear and finish loss with some handling marks and a small chip behind the lyman sight base, receiver has filler screws for a top mounted scope and the stock has had a hole plugged for a separate sling stud. Bore has some light frosting but good rifling. Overall a nice early Griffin & Howe in good shootable condition.
