Description:
"NSN. Converted in the late 1860s by Birmingham Small Arms Company, chambered in .577 Snider,36.5"" round rifled barrel. The barrel has aged to a dark patina, while the breech is clearly marked “*/II/BSA CO," indicating a Mark II pattern conversion. Lock plate markings are faint but remain legible. The Snider-Enfield system represents Britain’s first widespread adoption of a metallic cartridge conversion, updating earlier percussion Enfield rifles for breech-loading use. The stock has been refurbished and shows a crack on the right side just below the nose cap, along with a few scattered holes in the buttstock. Despite these imperfections, the rifle retains solid overall structure. The action is mechanically sound and functions correctly.
