Description:
Here is an iron-legged 3rd Model Dragoon, 44 caliber Colts Patent bullet mold. It has the large cavities that go with both the 3rd Model Dragoon or the 44 caliber Colt Revolving Root rifle. The cavities are in excellent condition. The markings are very clear and readable. It has light salt and pepper pitting underneath the greyisyh gun-metal blue patina. It opens and closes correctly. This is a very hard to find bullet mold in any condition. This one is not only rare but in very good condition.
I have included a picture of the five different Dragoon mold cavities which I found in Robin Rapley's book, "Colt Accoutrements".
