The Winchester Model 1895 is a lever-action rifle chambered in .30-40 Krag Improved and fitted with a 22?inch barrel. This rifle was manufactured in 1916 and incorporates the box?magazine design associated with the 1895 series. The receiver and lever mechanism are configured for the .30?40 Krag Improved cartridge, and the rifle features an improved lever system typical of later production variants. The overall configuration reflects a sporting setup suited to the period of manufacture.
Features include an adjustable rear Williams peep sight and a smooth straight?grip stock made by Fajen, paired with a matching wood forearm. The butt plate is also marked Fajen. The bore condition is described as very good, showing strong rifling throughout. The action cycles properly, and the serial number is 396744, corresponding to 1916 production. This rifle is used and shows handling consistent with its age while retaining clear mechanical definition and bore quality.
