Description:
16 Ga / 8x57 with 2 ½" Chambers | 25 ½" Barrels with Fixed Full & Full Chokes | Boxlock Drilling Action with Engraved Receiver

The German drilling is the quintessential "forester’s gun," a versatile firearm designed to handle the various demands of the European hunting tradition. This 1920 example represents a classic era of German gunmaking, combining a 16 Gauge shotgun with an 8x57 rifle barrel to effectively manage both fur and feathers.

This specific unit remains in overall good condition for its age, retaining 95% of its original bluing and featuring beautiful engraving across the receiver and a rib that bears the name E. Scheinert of Osnabruck. The pistol grip wood furniture displays a raised cheek piece and expected handling marks, including a notable repair with a screw located in the wood near the action.

Mechanically, the firearm locks up tight with bright, clean bores and utilizes double triggers with a manual safety and integrated barrel selector. With a 14 ? inch length of pull, the 25 ½ inch barrels feature 2 ½ inch chambers and fixed full chokes, providing a mechanically sound and sophisticated platform for the versatile outdoorsman.
