Wonderful early Swiss military SIG P49 pistol, this example the 498th pistol assembled, all matching with original hammer group without half-cock and two earliest issue magazines with in-the-white bodies complete with a "50" dated holster. A great early and complete rig, missing only the shoulder strap!

Early Swiss military issue SIG P49 single action pistol with original hammer group, cal. 9mmP, SN: A100498, the 498th pistol to have been assembled, with 4.75” barrel and drift adjustable front and rear sight. The left side of the slide and frame are proofed and marked with the full serial number that is repeated on the right side of the barrel hood. Acceptance is raised and slightly haloed. Safety detents are marked with an “S” in white and “F” in red. “P” release on the left side of trigger guard web. Disassembly confirms an original matching hammer group. Fitted with serrated walnut grips secured with fire blued screw. Fixed lanyard ring. Complete with two original magazines, bodies still in-the-white per original issue, and a correct, dated “50”, Swiss military holster, without battle-ready stud, maker's marks "JOS BUHLER", "SATTLER", and "DUBENDORF" stamped on the back.

Condition:

Crisp 97-98% bright original blue with sharp edge holster wear in the usual locations, negligible thinning/handling marks on frontstrap. Comparable condition grips with most original finish, scattered handling marks, no suggestion of touch-up. Grip screw and escutcheon with most of their original fire blue. Mirror bore. Correct manual mechanics. VG holster with scuffs and staining, pistol number having been inked on back surface of spare magazine pouch.
