Description:
An absolute stunning original condition example of this very rare high grade model. Made with 30" Finest Damascus barrels, with rib engraved "D.M. Lefever Makers & Patentees Syracuse, NY." Splinter forend is near full coverage checkered with engraved pushbutton release and triangular horn tip, forend is beautifully scalloped border checkered at breech end. The fences are nicely sculpted in fleur-de-lis pattern and locks are engraved with double dogs and scroll on right side, Setter on left with flushing woodcock in front of lever. Bottom of frame with engraved rails and full length trigger guard with Setter and scroll engraving on bow, SN at tang. The capped pistol grip buttstock is checkered in scalloped border pattern through the wrist with tear drops behind the locks and terminates with its original checkered horn buttplate with engraved screws. The top tang has two small holes, obviously factory, which indicate this gun was originally mounted with a tang sight and most certainly had a second set of rifle barrels with it. The whereabouts of these barrels is unknown today.

Overall, the gun remains in pristine untouched original condition which is impossible to find for a sidecocking Lefever. The gun retains more than 90% original Damascus pattern. Action retains more than 1/2 of its original case color with perfect screws. Stocks are sound and retain more than 95% of their original finish with crisp checkering and only minor handling marks. Bores are mostly bright and shiny with only very minor beginning orange peel in right bore. Mechanics are fine. For a gun that is nearly 140 years old, this is as fine a specimen as one could hope to find! This is the cleanest high original condition example of this model I have had the privilege of handling in more than 35 years of aggressively pursuing Lefever Guns.

This beautiful Lefever is priced at $9950 plus shipping to your home as an Antique. Please dont hesitate to contact me with any questions or reasonable offers at (704) 280-2382 or via PM on this site.
