Description:
20 inch round barrel carbine configuration chambered in the seldom scene in a carbine 38 WCF caliber. Bore has good rifling and some scattered light roughness. Barrel and full length magazine tube are mostly a mottled brown/gray patina. Sights include a barleycorn front and folding ladder "1873" marked carbine rear. Receiver is a gray/brown color with some very fine pin prick pitting. Loading gate is a blue/gray. Hammer and lever are brown with the balance turning gray. Saddle ring is present but the dust cover is missing. Crisp action. Walnut forearm and buttstock have nice wood grain but has been lightly sanded and is shy in the wrist. Some handling mars and a carbine style buttplate. Manufactured in 1894. A Winchester with character.
