Description: The Remington 720 is a limited production bolt-action rifle produced between 1941 and 1944 with only about 2,500 units. This rifle was designed to compete with the Model 70 and is considered a "transitional" rifle between the Model 30 and the Model 721. Roughly 1,000 units were acquired by the U.S. Navy, with this particular rifle being manufactured in 1942 and was used by the 1973 Pacific Fleet Rifle Champion. The wooden stock has a few spots that show marking from usage and wear but is in very good condition. The metal receiver and barrel look to be clear of any damage or wear marks. All factory markings are clean and clear along with the inspection stamp from Frank J. Atwood on the left side of the rear stock, who was a U.S. Army Ordnance officer who oversaw inspection and acceptance of firearms at Remington during World War II.
