Description: Uberti 1847 Walker .44 Cal 9" Bbl 6rd Steel Black Powder Revolver (340200) This revovler is brand new in the box. The 1847 Walker was designed between Texas Ranger Captain Samuel Walker and legendary firearms maker Samuel Colt. Captain Walker and his Rangers had previously used one of Colt’s earlier revolver models to great effect during the Mexican-American War, and approached Colt directly to produce a larger, more powerful version. Hence the 1847 Walker revolver was born. At the time of its creation, this behemoth was the largest black powder repeating pistol ever manufactured. Due to their sheer size, a pair of them would often be carried in saddle holsters rather than on a belt. They saw service in the later stages of the Mexican-American War, where they gained a reputation for being extremely powerful at close range, and had been observed to be as accurate as a rifle. Uberti’s 1847 Walker is an authentic reproduction down to the last detail, featuring an engraved cylinder, brass trigger guard, blade front sight and hardwood grips. Only a small number of originals were ever produced before evolving into subsequent variations, making originals extremely rare. Features of the Uberti 1847 Walker:
