The Harrington & Richardson (H&R) U.S.R.A. Pistol, also known as the Model 195, is widely considered one of the finest single-shot target pistols ever produced. Introduced in 1928, it was designed specifically to meet the rigorous competition standards of the United States Revolver Association (USRA).
Historical Significance
- Engineering Excellence: H&R, usually known for affordable \"working man‚s\" revolvers, hired mechanical engineer and champion shooter Walter F. Roper to develop this pistol. His goal was to create a \"no-costs-spared\" match-grade firearm to rival the best from Europe and Smith & Wesson.
- Record Breaker: The pistol was so accurate that it was adopted by the U.S. Army Pistol Team and was used to set a new U.S. national record in 1932.
- Rarity: Only approximately 3,500 units were manufactured between 1928 and 1941, making them highly sought-after collector‚s items today.
