You are looking at a colt 1911 made in 1919. This pistol is marked “model of 1911 U.S. Army" on the right side of the slide and “United States property" on the right side of the frame above the serial number. The left side of the slide is stamped “Patented apr 20.1897. Sept.9.1902 Dec.19.1905. Feb.14.1911. AUG.19.1913 Colt’s PT.F.A.MFG.CO Hartford, CT. U.S.A.". The left side of the frame has an A.A. Stamped forward of the slide stop lever on the frame, eagle over S5 above the magazine release, and 15 on the rear of the trigger guard. The front sight has been step notched. The magazine is an original lanyard loop magazine. The holster is marked “Perkins Campbell 1917 JAH" and “US". Based on what I have researched, this pistol was reworked at agusta arsenal for WWII (due to the A.A. Stamp on the frame). The parkerized finish has a few scratches but is in overall very good condition. Any collector would be proud to add this piece to their collection.
