Description:
Had this chunk of Brazilian Rosewood for 40 years at least waiting to start making something with it but life got too busy . It was waxed on both sides to keep it from checking. Back when one could obtain a permit to dig the Brazilian Rosewood stumps they were mostle used to make replacement  handles for Stanley Rule & Level Company plane handles. Stanley was started in the mid to later 1800s . They used Brazilian Rosewood only . This practice lasted up to the 50s or so . Im sure they used tons of it. The Brazilian has a pitch black pattern in it from volcanic ash in the root systems thet grew into the tree. Also orange , red and brown. So Im offering this to you knife makers , pistol grip makers, craftsmen and others that want to add a special look to your pieces. This is a legaly harvested piece of rare wood. Iv never seen another one.
