For sale is a truly exceptional example of Swedish mid-century craftsmanship: a Husqvarna Model 649 chambered in the legendary 9.3x62mm. This rifle was produced in the mid-1940s using Husqvarna’s "Solid Wall" Small Ring Mauser action. Known for its incredibly smooth "cock-on-closing" cycle and Swedish steel durability, this is a quintessential European hunting rifle from the WWII era.
What sets this particular rifle apart is its remarkable original condition. Unlike the vast majority of these rifles, which were drilled for optics after importation, this receiver is completely unmolested. It has never been drilled or tapped for scope mounts, leaving the classic "Crowned Gothic H" Husqvarna crest on the receiver ring and the clean lines of the commercial Mauser action perfectly intact.
The 9.3x62mm chambering is a world-class "thumper," highly regarded for its ability to take down any heavy game while fitting into a standard-length action.
