Offered is a classic early production Colt Police Positive revolver, chambered in .38 S&W, featuring a 4-inch barrel and original Colt hard rubber grips. Serial number 93426 places this revolver in the circa 1912–1914 production period, making it a desirable pre-World War I example of Colt’s highly respected small-frame double-action revolver.

The Colt Police Positive was introduced in 1907 and quickly became one of Colt’s most successful small-frame service revolvers. Designed for law enforcement and civilian carry, it earned its reputation for durability, compact handling, and smooth Colt trigger action. Early examples such as this pre-WWI revolver represent an important period in Colt’s history, prior to wartime production changes.
This example retains its original configuration with period-correct grips and unaltered mechanical layout. The revolver shows honest finish wear consistent with age, developing a natural patina that reflects over a century of history. Markings remain legible, and the overall presentation is that of a well-preserved early Colt rather than a refinished or modified piece.
The Police Positive remains popular with collectors of early American revolvers, particularly pre-WWI examples. While not a high-polish presentation piece, this is an authentic, honest Colt with historical appeal and strong collector interest.
