D. WILLIAMSON’S PATENT/JAN.5.1864

Daniel Moore and David Williamson designed the special teat-fire cartridge to circumvent the Rollin White patents. Moore was a serious competitor to Smith & Wesson and because of their strong sales record the company was Purchased by Colt in 1870
A very nice example of a post civil war early cartridge pistol

Condition: 3 ¼” nice mostly bright finish with strong lands and grooves. Just a tiny bit of oxidation and fouling.
Blued metal finish on the barrel , hammer , trigger and cylinder has faded and turned to an attractive antique looking gun-metal grey. All serial numbers are matching. Barrel markings and engravings are heavily softened but still legible .
The revolver is factory embellished with a nice flowing foliate scrollwork and punch dot shading. The frame still retains generous amount of the original silver plate throughout and thinning to a mild ocher brass beneath.
Original walnut grips are in very good condition the original varnish thinning in spots, usual wear and tear for a revolver of this age.
Both grips are numbered to the gun.  Mechanically the revolver cycles well with good indexing and firm cylinder lock-up. Hammer holds in half and full-cock position with a strong hammer spring.
