Description:
This is a British Land Pattern Brown Bess Musket Socket Bayonet of the type in made for service from 1750 till about 1800 as seen in the smaller collar and square shoulder at the back of the blade, after 1800 new bayonets, had the shoulder and elbow modified. This example is in good+ condition with evidence of over-all cleaning of the surfaces. A "crown" remains of the original markings and the others are not readable. 21" over-all with 16 ¾" blade, 4" socket, .963" ID of socket. Please see photo’s for fine detail.;
