The Ruger New Model Single-Six is a premium, single-action rimfire revolver celebrated for its durability and "heirloom" quality. The 5.5-inch barrel is widely considered the "sweet spot" for the platform, offering a balanced feel and a longer sight radius for improved accuracy over shorter models. The "New Model" designation (introduced in 1973) indicates the presence of a transfer bar mechanism. This allows the revolver to be carried safely with all six chambers loaded, as it can only fire when the trigger is fully depressed.
