Offered for sale is a highly desirable and increasingly difficult to find Winchester Model 101 Pigeon Grade over/under shotgun chambered in the scarce and elegant 28 gauge. This fine example features 28-inch vent rib barrels with a like-new bore, 2 3/4" chambers, and automatic ejectors, paired with fixed Improved Cylinder and Modified chokes, making it an ideal upland sporting configuration. The barrels display smooth factory finishing with jeweled flats and a level of fit and finish consistent with Winchester’s higher-grade production.
The coin-finished receiver is beautifully factory engraved with classic game scene vignettes and fine scrollwork, showcasing the iconic Pigeon Grade aesthetic that has made these guns so collectible. It is fitted with a single selective trigger, offering both reliability and refined handling in the field or on the sporting clays course.
This shotgun is stocked in a factory deluxe English-style straight grip walnut stock with matching splinter forend, both exhibiting tasteful checkering and excellent figure. Dimensions include a 14" length of pull, 1 3/8" drop at comb, and 2" drop at heel, terminating in the factory black rubber buttplate. The proportions lend to a quick, lively mount and superb balance characteristic of the Model 101 platform in smaller gauge.
