It features a distinctly American style stock made from high grade Turkish walnut with an attractive laminated finish. Finely cut checkering on the grip and forend sections provide a decent hold on the rifle and are accented by fleur-de-lis motifs that give the rifle a timelessly classic appearance. The stock is perfectly complemented by a glossy black finish on all of the metal parts, which also protects the metal from the elements and corrosion. Like the other rifles in the CZ 600 family, the 600 American is outfitted with the innovative controlled feed system. This design utilizes a short extractor to ensure reliable feeding and extraction of brass and cartridges in any position and during rapid firing. The CZ 600 American’s bolt features a short 60° throw, allowing the bolt to clear the ocular bell of larger riflescopes and promote faster bolt manipulations. Other features of the CZ 600 American include a vertical, tang-mounted safety that can be engaged/disengaged virtually silently as well as locking magazine system allows the firearm to be used as a fixed magazine rifle or a detachable magazine rifle.
