Description:

Wonderful Bern K31 straight-pull bolt action Privat Series Commercial rifle, cal. 7.5x55 Swiss, SN: P.402616, made 1942 (WWII) with special fine-tune height adjustable rear sight, factory test targets, and double magazine pouch. Rifle with 25.67" barrel with military form drift-adjustable front sight with protective ears and tangent rear sight graduated 1-15, this example with an added mechanism to fine-tune the height adjustment. Receiver is marked with the Swiss Cross-in-Shield, the left side marked with the Private Series SN: P.402616, the serial number repeated on the top of the bolt and the bottom of the magazine, the last three digits on the shank of the barrel. Military configuration walnut handguard and stock, the right side of the stock with an acceptance that breaks through the finish. Brass/steel accepted muzzle cap. Military leather sling dated "52" and double magazine pouch, manufacturer marked, accepted and dated "55". Complete with two original 300 meter factory targets dated July 2, 1955 and November 30, 1957 both referencing weapon number 402616 with official W+F markings and scoring results.

Condition:

Near excellent original finish K31 Commercial Privat Series rifle with light sharp edge wear as befitting a commercial rifle that was carefully attended and sparingly used for sporting/target practice, the only exception a noticeable thin area on the right side of the rear barrel band. Comparable condition, original finish handguard and stock, the acceptance on the right side of the stock having broken through the finish. Mirror bore. Correct manual mechanics. Muzzle cap, double magazine pouch and both of the original factory test targets in the same condition.
