Description: Original U.S. Springfield Model 1894 Krag-Jørgensen rifle chambered in .30-40 Krag, serial number 15014, manufactured circa 1895 and qualifying as an antique (pre-1899). FFL is still required since New Jersey Law does not have a Pre-1898 Law. This rifle remains in correct full-length U.S. military configuration with the proper 30” barrel, and presents as an honest, unaltered example of an early American service rifle from the Spanish-American War period. The metal surfaces retain their original finish with an even, natural patina throughout. There is typical service wear with areas of finish thinning and light surface oxidation, consistent with age and use. Importantly, the receiver markings are crisp and clearly legible, indicating the rifle has not been refinished or buffed, which is highly desirable to collectors. The action is smooth and mechanically sound, and the side-loading magazine system is clean and functions as intended. The Krag’s signature smooth bolt operation is fully present. The wood stock is in very nice condition, showing good color and character with normal handling marks, and maintains a tight, correct fit to the metal.
