Edgar Roberts started in the trade in 1900, was at 141 Steelhouse Lane and 22 Weaman Street from 1903 to 1923 (The address of this gun) and remained there until 1923. His shop was at at 22 Weaman Street only in 1924 to 1928. His address then changed to 22 Bath Street in 1928 and he remained there until 1936. Hence this quality gun was built about 1913 or 1914. It most likely was retailed and/or finished by Roberts rather than made by his shop as Birmingham made thousands identical to this piece from that great era.
