Description: Guns Listing ID: 660489 For sale is a genuine Finnish SAKO-refurbished Mosin-Nagant Model 1939 (M/39) chambered in 7.62×54R. This rifle was originally a Soviet Izhevsk-produced Mosin (clear triangle-with-arrow proof on the bolt) that was captured during the Winter War or Continuation War and then professionally refurbished at the SAKO factory in Finland around 1944. Key Features & Markings: Receiver marked with boxed SA (Suomen Armeija - Finnish Army property) and the iconic SAKO gear/sunflower “S" emblem. Clear 1944 date and serial number 252722. Barrel stamped “7.62x54" and “M-38 FIN" (Finnish refurbishment designation). Meter-graduated rear sight, hooded front sight, original cleaning rod, sling swivels, and bands. Classic Finnish finger-jointed/spliced stock and handguard repairs (typical of wartime Finnish work using available timber). Strong bore with very present, sharp rifling (shows some frost/carbon residue and would benefit from a thorough cleaning). Honest original military patina with character; solid wood showing normal service wear and small dings. No sporterizing. This is a standard Finnish refurb with typical partial matching numbers (bolt marked 04442 with strikethrough and 33C3 on the knob; floorplate and related parts show Finnish depot inventory marks such as 9057 and 6). This is normal and expected for SAKO-refurbished M/39 rifles. Historical Background: Finland captured large numbers of Soviet Mosin-Nagants and refurbished them for continued service. The M/39 was Finland’s premier Mosin variant, highly regarded by Finnish troops for its accuracy, reliability, and improved handling over standard Russian models. Rifles like this one served with Finnish forces during the latter part of the Continuation War and into the post-war period. Condition: Very good original shooter/collector grade with strong mechanics and intact original hardware. The rifle retains its authentic wartime appearance. Important Safety Note: This rifle should be inspected by a qualified gunsmith prior to firing. All photos are part of the description and show the rifle in detail.
