"Serial no. 1880338. Manufactured October 1943 by Springfield Armory, chambered in .30-06 Springfield,24"" round barrel marked “SA 8-52." The bore is bright and shiny with strong, well-defined rifling noted throughout. The bolt is marked “D28287-10SA/D-17," and the receiver is stamped “B9B 66/D28291 29." The operating rod is marked “D35382 9 SA," and the trigger assembly is correctly Springfield Armory marked. The rifle is configured as an M1D sniper variant and is equipped with an M84 scope, serial no. 13667, retaining clear optics. The rifle is fitted with a brown leather cheek piece marked “MRT 2-52." The stock remains in very good condition, showing minimal handling impressions. This example reflects a WWII-produced receiver later updated into M1D configuration for continued service, commonly seen during the Korean War period. The action is smooth, mechanically sound, and functions correctly.
