"Serial no. 2452877. Manufactured June 1944 by Winchester Repeating Arms Company, chambered in .30-06 Springfield,24"" round barrel. The bore is bright and shiny with strong, well-defined rifling noted throughout. The bolt is marked “D28287-1 W.R.A," and the receiver is stamped “D28291-2." The operating rod remains uncut and is marked “D35382-W.R.A." The trigger assembly is correctly Winchester marked. The rifle retains its Type III lock bar rear sight. The stock displays a handsome “W.R.A./G.H.D." cartouche alongside the ordnance crossed cannons, indicating inspection under Brigadier General Guy H. Drewry. Winchester-produced Garands are among the more desirable WWII variants due to their comparatively limited production and distinct markings. The action is smooth, mechanically sound, and functions correctly.
