"Serial no. 9130-5861 (importer). Manufactured in 1938 at Izhevsk Arsenal, chambered in 7.62x54R,29"" round barrel. The bore is bright and shiny with strong, well-defined rifling noted throughout. Serial numbers are matching. The left side of the receiver is import marked. The rifle has been post-war arsenal refurbished, a common practice for Soviet service rifles retained for storage and later reissue. The stock remains in very good condition, showing minimal handling wear. Pre-war Izhevsk production is often noted for slightly improved machining and finish quality compared to later wartime examples. The action is smooth, mechanically sound, and functions correctly.
