This is the Smith & Wesson Model One 2nd issue revolver manufactured circa 1860-1868. In excellent condition the barrel shows about 90-95% original bright blue with a few thin scratches and spots of flaking to smooth gray-brown while the cylinder retains about 65-70% original bright blue with crisp markings having some flaking to gray-brown. The frame retains virtually all, 97-98% of the original silver finish with some rainbow toning having a few minor dings and light handling marks. The smooth rosewood grips rate about excellent showing a few light handling marks and base edge wear with fine overall original varnish. The cylinder stop bolt is broken so the cylinder does not lock up securely but it still times normally and the hammer is crisp. A very attractive 2nd issue revolver with a remarkable amount of original finish that has aged beautifully. Antique Price: $895.00 Antique: Yes |
