Description:
Manufactured in 1980, this elegant sporting rifle features a blued barrel with standard factory markings and no provision for sights, giving the rifle a clean and refined profile. The barrel is mounted to a beautifully finished French grey action extensively embellished with deep relief scroll engraving surrounding detailed wildlife scenes. The left side portrays a bull and cow moose standing in a marsh setting, while the right side displays a bull and cow elk in an open meadow, each scene executed with exceptional attention to detail and depth. A partially legible engraver’s signature remains visible at the lower rear portion of the left side of the action, identifying the work of an FN factory master engraver.
The rifle is completed with a highly figured walnut forend and pistol grip stock featuring fancy oak leaf and dot bordered multi-point checkering. French grey sling swivel mounts and a factory recoil pad further enhance this finely finished and tastefully embellished rifle.
Condition:
Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and French grey finishes with minor handling evidence and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. Mechanically excellent.
