"Serial no. 26416. Manufactured in 1941 at Nagoya Arsenal,chambered in 7.7x58mm,25.9"" round barrel. The bore is good with strong, well-defined rifling noted throughout. Serial numbers are matching. The imperial chrysanthemum (“mum") has been removed from the receiver, a common practice indicating surrender during wartime or post-war defacement. The rifle remains equipped with its original monopod, a desirable early-war feature. The stock shows honest handling impressions consistent with service use. Early “zero series" Type 99 rifles represent initial production prior to the adoption of series markings and typically exhibit higher manufacturing quality and features compared to later wartime examples.
