Description:
Guns Listing ID: 668179

For sale is a highly desirable WWII-era Remington Model 11 chambered in 12 Gauge, serial number 724827, manufactured approximately between 1944–1945 during the height of American wartime production. Built on John Moses Browning’s legendary long-recoil operating system — the same revolutionary design that became the world-famous Browning Auto-5 — the Remington Model 11 remains one of the most iconic and respected semi-automatic shotguns ever produced in American firearms history.
This particular example offers exceptional vintage character with authentic wartime-era appeal throughout. The shotgun retains its original American black walnut stock and forend featuring attractive grain structure, solid integrity, and sharp original-style checkering that remains impressively defined for a firearm approaching 80 years old. The walnut has developed the rich dark reddish-brown tone collectors look for in vintage American sporting arms.
The metal surfaces display an honest aged patina that gives this firearm tremendous visual character and authenticity. Rather than appearing overly restored or refinished, this Model 11 presents exactly as a true mid-century American sporting shotgun should — retaining the look and feel of a firearm that was built to work and built to last.
A major highlight is the professionally installed Cutts compensator mounted at the muzzle. This highly sought-after period-correct upgrade was one of the premier shotgun performance modifications of the mid-20th century and was favored by serious hunters and competitive shooters alike for recoil reduction and muzzle control. The compensator gives this shotgun an unmistakable classic American sporting profile that stands out immediately.
This shotgun is chambered for 2¾" shells and features the traditional tubular magazine system with an approximate 3+1 capacity configuration. The legendary Browning long-recoil action remains one of the smoothest and most proven shotgun operating systems ever designed.

Collector and Market Notes:
WWII-production Remington Model 11 shotguns continue to grow in popularity among collectors, vintage hunters, and Browning enthusiasts as clean original examples become increasingly difficult to find. The combination of wartime manufacture, original walnut furniture, classic long-recoil operation, and period-correct Cutts compensator makes this an especially attractive and distinctive example.
Comparable examples in similar condition continue to command strong collector interest, with current market values generally ranging from approximately $650–$900 depending on region and collector demand. WWII-era Browning long-recoil shotguns have steadily increased in value over recent years as collectors continue searching for authentic American-made sporting firearms from this period.
This firearm would make an excellent addition to:
A WWII-era firearms collection
A Browning long-recoil shotgun collection
A vintage American sporting arms collection
A classic upland or waterfowl hunting lineup
Any collector seeking authentic mid-century American craftsmanship
