Description:
Unique and not often found variation of the many models of these wonderful Savage 99 rifles. The DL (Deluxe or M...Monte Carlo) are somewhat rare; produced from 1960 to 1973 in various but simialr configurations. Thsi one has the later and better (more user friendly) tang safety but still retains the factory hand checkered American Walnut Stocks. The rear site (easily replaced...just insert in dovetail) has been damaged or possibly intentionally had the V remoed for scope clearance. It came to us without a scope however we will include functioning scope at no charge..but buyer will have to puchase an inexpensive 2 piec base and rings.
There is a tiny fissure behind the upper tang on the left side that does not look as if it wnats to travel. Still has the distinctive Savage Indian on the nice factory Aluminium Butt Plate.
The DL was also he basic model used for the very fancy limited production factory engraved PE (presentation models thath sell for amounts upward of 6k)
Still has the rotary magazine, cartridge counter window on the left side of the receiver and cocking indicator.
Someone lighely scuffed up the receiver so it is not perfect but not shabby looking either .
Dont' miss this one...they are hard to come by.
