Up for sale is a Nagoya Arsenal Type 99 Arisaka rifle, one of the most recognizable and historically significant Japanese military rifles of World War II. Chambered in 7.7 Japanese, the Type 99 was the standard battle rifle of Imperial Japanese forces during the war and is highly sought after by military surplus collectors.
This rifle has the Mum ground off but still has the anti-aircraft sights. Manufactured at the famed Nagoya Arsenal, this rifle retains its classic wartime configuration and military character. Original arsenal markings and period features remain present, making this a solid collectible piece of WWII history. The Type 99 is well regarded for its exceptionally strong bolt-action design and unique place among military surplus firearms. This rifle was manufactured with all of the wood and metal and was not a last ditch rifle.
The wood stock shows honest service wear with handling marks, scratches, and age-related character consistent with wartime use and long-term storage. Metal finish displays expected wear and patina for a rifle of this era while maintaining strong overall presentation.
