Receiver Markings: Located on the top heel of the receiver, the most distinct feature is the manufacturer stamping which typically reads QUALITY H.M.C.
Subcontractor Markings: Quality Hardware only assembled the firearms and manufactured receivers. Their carbines feature parts supplied by a network of subcontractors (e.g., barrels by Buffalo Arms or Rock-Ola, stocks from various woodworking facilities). A “Q-RMC" stamp (Quality - Rochester Manufacturing Company) is often found stamped inside the sling channel of the stock.
Caliber & Action: Chambered in the iconic .30 Carbine, utilizing a reliable short-stroke gas-piston system and a rotating bolt.Sights: Original early production models featured simple L-flip sights. Most were eventually upgraded with Type 2 milled adjustable rear sights (calibrated for 100 to 300 yards with windage knobs) and a wing-protected front post.
