A fantastic piece of Commonwealth military training history, this BSA Martini Cadet rifle clearly shows its service with the Commonwealth of Australia Military Forces – Victoria through matching property number 2545 on both the receiver and stock cartouche. The distinctive kangaroo cartouche atop the receiver adds a desirable touch of Australian provenance collectors love to see.
These rifles trained generations of Australian cadets in marksmanship, and this example remains mechanically excellent with a smooth-operating Martini action and an outstanding bore—a rare combination for a service trainer of this age. With its low serial number (6237), early rear sight, strong markings, and classic military character, this is an excellent opportunity for collectors of Commonwealth arms, Martini rifles, or early military trainers to add a genuine and well-preserved piece to their collection.
