Offered here is a high-grade custom bolt-action sporting rifle built by renowned American rifle maker Winston Elrod on a classic Winchester Model 70 action. This rifle represents a refined example of traditional American custom rifle craftsmanship, combining precision, balance, and striking visual appeal.
Chambered in .270 Winchester and fitted with a 22” barrel, this rifle is ideally suited as a lightweight, highly capable hunting rifle while also appealing to collectors of fine custom sporting arms.
The rifle features a beautifully executed pistol grip stock with cheekpiece, crafted from highly figured walnut. The wood exhibits excellent contrast and grain flow, with proper shaping and architecture that reflects the hallmark style of a well-built custom rifle. The cheekpiece and grip geometry provide both comfort and control in the field.
Weighing 7 lbs. 9 oz., this rifle offers an excellent balance between portability and shootability. Scope rings are mounted, allowing for immediate optic installation and use.
Condition is as new, with minimal handling. The metal retains a strong, even finish, and the wood remains exceptionally clean with crisp edges and no notable wear.
