Description:
The Savage Arms Fox Model B is a 12-gauge side-by-side shotgun with break-action operation and a two-shot capacity. It is fitted with 28-inch barrels chambered for 2 3/4-inch shells and configured with Full and Improved Modified chokes. The barrels have a blued finish and a ventilated rib. The receiver is case-hardened with light engraving, and the shotgun features double triggers and extractors. Production of the Model B spanned several decades, with this configuration representative of mid-20th-century manufacture.
The bores are described as excellent with mirror shine. The blued metal surfaces display minor handling marks, including scattered light scratches. The receiver’s case colors are slightly faded but retain visible patterning. The steel trigger guard shows light surface scuffs consistent with careful use. The walnut furniture includes a wide beavertail forearm and a checkered butt stock with attractive figure. Both wood components show minimal wear, with a single small ding noted on the pistol grip area and a hairline crack on the left side, the stock is nice and tight (see the last pic of the shotgun). The shotgun retains its original plastic butt plate, providing a length of pull of approximately 14 1/4 inches and Overall Length of 42".
Features include a traditional double-trigger arrangement and extractor system. The Fox Model B was manufactured by Savage Arms between roughly 1940 and 1986 and is eligible for Curio & Relic classification. No accessories or additional components are listed with this shotgun.
