Payment Types Accepted: checks, cashiers/bank check, money order Description: RARE GREAT DEPRESSION ERA M-94 TRANSITION CARBINE, .30 WCF, #1121XXX, MADE 1937. These Transition M-94s are interesting because they still maintained the early style carbine butt stock while doing away with the saddle ring and having a hooded front sight on a ramp. Rear sights were buckhorn rear sight. During these years Winchester kept only their finest craftsmen and with demand and production limited, the quality of 1930s guns (Colts & S&W also) were some of the finest produced. This example retains about all the deep blue on the barrel and magazine and even most of the blue on the barrel bands. It also retains the hood for the front sight. The rear sight dovetail has a blank filler installed as it is fitted with a Marble tang sight (no extra holes hidden underneath). There is also fine deep blue on the hammer, lever, loading gate and bolt. As is typical of M-94s made during this time the receiver blue is flaking to brown and gray with good blue in the more protected areas of the front and rear portions of the right side with the left side and around the hammer showing more blue. Receiver screw heads are excellent and retain good blue. Stock and forend are generally excellent showing very light handling only and tight wood to metal fit. Tight action with strong safety half cock and bright minty bore. A truly great and classic limited production carbine from one of the most difficult economic times in U.S. history. $1595.
