The Smith & Wesson M&P 40 Shield is a subcompact, striker-fired pistol specifically designed for everyday carry, featuring a 3.1" barrel. It is widely recognized for its slim, one-inch profile and 18-degree grip angle, which provides a natural point of aim similar to full-size M&P models. Measuring only 0.95" wide, the Shield is thin enough to disappear under light clothing while maintaining the performance features of the larger M&P series.
