Description: This Winchester model 1873 lever-action rifle is chambered in .38 WCF. Manufactured in 1890, this is an exceptional example of "the gun that won the West". In regards to the American West, and perhaps America in general, there are few more iconic duos than the Winchester Model 1873 and the Colt Single Action Army revolver. Sharing many common calibers such as .38 W.C.F., these two guns were easily paired as a primary weapon and sidearm using the same ammunition. It has the Third Model receiver with the integral dust cover guide and dust cover with grip serrations at the rear. The top of the barrel is marked with the typical two-line address and King's patent marking, as well as the caliber marking at the breech, which is repeated on the bottom of the cartridge elevator. The upper tang has the model marking, and the serial number is marked on the lower tang. It is fitted with a beaded blade front sight, a Lyman folding leaf rear sight, and a Lyman combination peep sight on the upper tang. It is mounted with a smooth forearm and straight grip stock with a trapdoor crescent buttplate. Exceptionally fine, retain 80% plus of the original blue finish, 70% plus of the original case colors, and 50% of the original nitre blue on the loading gate with the balance mostly smooth grey patina, a few scattered minor dings, and some very light surface spotting on the left rear of the receiver. The wood is very fine with some scattered minor dings and scratches. Mechanically excellent. .38 WCF Price: $6,999.99 Curio/Relic: Yes Antique: Yes Chambers: N/A Metal Condition: Very good with minor wear and handling marks Wood Condition: Very good with minor wear and handling marks Barrels: N/A Triggers: Standard Stock Dimensions: 14" LoP Fore End: Smooth walnut Butt Pad: Metal Chokes: N/A Item Location: Fort Worth, TX |
