"Serial no. 15219. Manufactured circa 1944–1945 at Kokura Arsenal ,chambered in 7.7x58mm,26"" round barrel. The bore is dark with faint rifling remaining. Serial numbers are non-matching. The rifle shows honest handling and service wear consistent with hard use during the closing stages of the Pacific Theater. Late-war Kokura Type 99 rifles often exhibit simplified manufacturing features and rougher overall finish as Japanese industry struggled with material shortages and increasing wartime pressure. These rifles represent the final phase of Japanese military small arms production during WWII. The action is smooth, mechanically sound, and functions correctly.
