Description:
Rigby Mopani limited edition .450 Rigby Magnum. Rifle number seven from an edition of 12, serial 10957 has a 22-inch barrel (sleeved front sight assembly with integral hooded ramp and brass-beaded blade, banded sling loop, quarter rib with express leaf and folders marked 150/250). Features include a matte finish with major silver elements (shroud, bottom metal, grip cap, crossbolt) and niter blue accents (extractor, follower, bolt release spring, floorplate release, action screws), single square bridge Mauser 98 magnum action, three-position roll-over (traditional) safety, drop box, inside-the-bow release button. STOCK: Shaped to the proper dimensions of a dangerous game rifle, the stout walnut blank is appointed with fine double-bordered wrap checkering, crossbolt, scalloped pancake with shadow line, trapdoor grip cap, toe line sling loop and a recoil pad. ENGRAVING: Geoffrey Lingon engraved the floorplate with the partial bust of a bull elephant. A mopani leaf graces the crossbolt caps and bolt knob while the addorsed R's ride the trap. DIMENSIONS: Weight is 10.6 pounds and the length-of-pull is 14.4 inches. CONDITION: The bore is strong and bright. Metal finish is at least 99 percent. Wood is 98 percent owing to three tiny impressions. CAPACITY: Four rounds (three plus one). The extractor “snaps over” rounds dropped into the chamber, although some pressure is required (possibly due to the rim thickness fo the Norma brass). Feeding/extraction/ejection are otherwise smooth and dependable. ACCURACY: The included test target shows a three-shot group of 1.35 inches center-to-center (65 yards, iron sights, Hornady 480-grain ammo). CASE: A serialed canvas and leather case with maker's label, screwdriver and cleaning tools is present and in excellent condition. RELATED RIFLES: Several other limited edition Rigby rifles are presented concurrently. The price is firm and layaway is available. $22,500 plus shipping.
