Description:
Rigby Highland Stalker WDM Bell .275 Rigby limited edition number 16/50. Made in 2019 as part of Rigby's Heritage Series and as true as possible/practical to Bell's 1922 specifications, serial 14512 has a 22-inch barrel (.680-inch muzzle diameter, hooded front ramp with white-beaded blade, contoured sling swivel stud, island rear sight assembly with fixed and folding leafs marked 100/300/400. Features include a Mauser 98 standard action with a rust blue finish (niter blued full-length claw extractor/follower/bolt release spring), flat bolt handle, three-position safety and steel bottom metal with an inside-the-bow release. STOCK: The AA-grade walnut stock is trim, giving the rifle exceptional pointability. Formalities include wrap checkering with partially-Mullered borders, semi-pistol grip, toe line stud and a thin recoil pad. ENGRAVING: The floorplate bears the legend “WDMB 16 of 50”. DIMENSIONS: Weight is 8.0 pounds and the length-of-pull is 14.0 inches. CONDITION: The bore is pristine and the rifle shows no evidence of being fired since factory proof. Metal finish is approximately 98 percent owing to superficial scratching on the bolt “knob”. Wood is 99 percent with but trace suggestions of handling. CAPACITY: Five rounds feed from the magazine. The extractor “snaps over” rounds dropped into the chamber. Feeding/extraction/ejection are positive. ACCURACY: The included test target shows a three-shot, .728-inch group (center-to-center, 65 yards with open sights, Hornady). AMMUNITION: One hundred rounds of Rigby-boxed 140-grain soft points (loaded by Hornady) and nine rounds of vintage Kynoch softs in the vintage Rigby box are present. CASE: A serialed full-length canvas and leather case with maker's label, serialed and specially-marked knife with a Rigby logo sheath, “WDMB” marked leather muzzle cover and screwdriver, sling, cleaning tools and a key is present. INCLUSIONS: A framed color photocopy if the Rigby ledger showing the 1922 order, a copy of Bell's Incidents From An Elephant Hunter's Diary signed by the principals who built the rifle plus manual and related papers are also included. RELATED RIFLES: Several other limited edition Rigby rifles are presented concurrently. The price is firm and layaway is available.
