WW II Luger 1940 Police, Banner, Eagle L with two mags and police holster.
Matching serial numbers on the frame and barrel extension, along with matching "43" partial serial numbers visible on small parts and including one magazine. Included is a Black leather Holster- "O.REICHEL/LENGERFELD." marked, "1940" dated and addional mag (non match) has "3872 +" with Eagle 37 stamp on body. Matching mag has,as shown "5643 over x" s/n 5643x
One of an estimated total of 3,300 Mauser "Banner" Luger pistols procured that year by the German Police with "eagle/(swastika) L" Page 146 Third Reich Lugers" .
Also in Jan Still's "Third Reich Luger" "Many of these police accepted lugers went to newly created units of the ordnugspolizei, SD,Gestapo,Kripo, and Einsatzgruppen .the luger was the main combat caliber (9mm) police pistol and hundreds of SS police battalion saw front line and anti- partizen combat action on eastern front"
