Description:
Excellent French military sword complete with scabbard and frog. Photos show maker marks . Scabbard stitching excellent with entry and drag brass fittings tight. Looks like factory polish on blade.
One leg on leather belt hanger attached but weak.
The French copied the Roman Centurian sword pattern for this 1831 issue. Some were imported for the U.S. Civil War, though this came directly from France.
