Westley Richards .375 Westley Richards (9.5x66 SE). Based on a Mauser 98 action, serial 43462 has a 24-inch barrel (.655-inch muzzle diameter, front sight assembly with folding hood, beaded blade and flip-up moon, banded sling swivel stud, island rear sight assembly with one fixed and two folding express leafs marked 100/200/300). Features include a custom shroud with three-position safety, extended bolt release lever, drop box and a rust blue finish. STOCK: Shaped trim from a Turkish blank with tight-running figure, dressings include an ebony forend tip, wrap checkering with partially-Mullered borders, crossbolt, scalloped pancake with shadow line, trapdoor grip cap, toe line stud, recoil pad and an oil finish OPTIC: A Leupold Compact 3-9x (1.55-inch objective housing outside diameter, Duplex reticle, gloss finish) is secured in quick detaching claw mounts. The mount functions properly and the optic condition is excellent. DIMENSIONS: Weight (with optic) is 10.0 pounds and the length-of-pull is 14.2 inches. CAPACITY: Five rounds (four plus one). The extractor “snaps over” rounds dropped into the chamber. Feeding/extraction/ejection are smooth and positive. CONDITION: The bore is strong and bright. Metal and wood finishes are each well over 90 percent. Mechanics are solid. Pad has hardened. MARKINGS: Address on barrel. Brand on front ring (left). Caliber on front ring (right). Hartmann & Weiss on front mount boss (right). AMMUNITION: Thirty six rounds of Westley Richards ammo (10 rounds of 300-grain solids and 26 rounds of 300-grain softs) is included. Case head markings are 9.5x66 SE, W. Gehmann. CASE: A full-length leather case with maker's label, canvas & leather sling, bottle, RCBS dies (for 9.5x55 SE, full length set of two plus neck sizer, shell holder) is included.
