Description:
The Sam Holt Arms Co. side-by-side hammer shotgun is a 12-gauge break-action firearm manufactured in Belgium. It is chambered for 2 3/4-inch shells and features dual external hammers with matching shell extractors. The shotgun is built with laminated steel barrels measuring approximately 30 inches in length and configured with fixed Full and Improved Cylinder chokes. The barrels are finished in blued steel, while the receiver displays a case-colored finish that has been coated with lacquer. A brass front bead sight is mounted on the rib, and the gun is fitted with a checkered wooden pistol grip stock and splinter forend.
This shotgun is used. The bores are described as good, showing light residue and a few faint dents. The barrels lock tightly to the receiver, and the metal surfaces retain about 85 percent of the original blued and case-colored finish with light rusting and areas turning to patina. The wooden furniture remains structurally sound with moderate handling marks and small dings consistent with age and use. The metal butt plate shows light oxidation and some bright spots where the finish has thinned. The length of pull is 14" and the overall length is 46 1/4"
Included components consist of the complete shotgun assembly with its original stock, forend, and metal butt plate. The serial number is 24. No additional accessories or packaging are noted. Overall configuration and markings correspond to a Belgian-manufactured Sam Holt Arms Co. double-barrel hammer gun from the late 19th to early 20th century production period.
