Remington Model 1903 A 3 Sportorized Bolt Action 30/06 Rifle.
This sportorized bolt-action rifle is built on a
Model 03 A3 action. The firearm features a tapered barrel and a blue finish on the receiver. It has a 24 inch barrel with a bright crisp bore. It is mounted in a Custom Checkered Walnut Sporter Stock decorated with Fleur - de - lis carvings, a raised Monte Carlo style cheek piece on the left side and a metal butt plate.
Key markings on the bridge include US/Remington Model 03A3 and serial number 3528145. The rifle is equipped with a Burris 4x-12x variable power scope with a duplex reticule on a Redfield base and comes with a neoprene scope cover bearing the Leupold name.
The rifle is in good overall condition. Unaltered it will allow for further restoration to bring it to any desired appearance. The blued finish on the receiver is well preserved while the barrel shows handling wear to be expected on a vintage piece. The Custom Walnut Stock displays some handling marks, etc. consistent with field use though the checkering remains well defined. The optics are clear with a functional dial. The action is smooth in operation. The gun has not been test fired.
